ABOUT
TRUE CIRCLE
True Circle is a volunteer based not-for-profit organisation that works to get excess food from restaurants to those in need.
MISSION & HISTORY.
True Circle was founded in August 2022 with a simple yet powerful realization: world hunger isn't a resource problem—it's a logistics problem. While one-third of the world's food production goes to waste, millions go hungry. We set out to bridge this gap.
Our mission is to create a sustainable connection between food abundance and food scarcity. We partner with restaurants to rescue perfectly edible food that would otherwise go to waste and work with local food banks to ensure it reaches those who need it most. Through our volunteer-driven model, we're proving that solving hunger doesn't always require new resources—sometimes, it just requires better distribution of what we already have.
Starting with a single partnership in Bangalore, True Circle has grown to two cities and 22 partners through the dedication of our 50+ volunteers and the generosity of our restaurant partners. We operate on a simple principle: collect, deliver, and distribute food within three hours to ensure freshness and safety.
Our vision is to expand this model globally, demonstrating that with the right systems in place, we can make significant strides in reducing both food waste and hunger simultaneously.
HOW IT WORKS .
Step 1: Partner Outreach
We build lasting partnerships with restaurants through our proven outreach system. Our team presents potential partners with a comprehensive proposal that includes our track record, food safety protocols, and legal documentation. Once a restaurant joins our network, we establish clear communication channels and set up regular pickup schedules that work with their operations. Our partners know they can count on us to arrive on time and handle their surplus food with care and professionalism.
Step 2: Strategic Distribution
Our impact is maximized through careful planning and local expertise. We maintain an updated database of high-need areas in Bangalore and Mumbai, working closely with local community leaders and food banks to identify where surplus food can make the biggest difference. Every weekend, our volunteer teams conduct coordinated pickup and distribution runs, ensuring that food reaches these communities within our three-hour freshness window.
Step 3: Scale and Sustain
We refine our processes through continuous feedback from restaurant partners, volunteers, and communities. Each successful distribution helps us build trust and expand our network. Our volunteer teams meet regularly to share experiences and improve our operations. This cycle of pickup, distribution, and improvement happens every weekend, creating a reliable and sustainable system for food rescue and redistribution.
OUR PARTNERS.
Our mission thrives through the incredible generosity of our partners -restaurants, non-profits, and food banks who transform surplus food into hope. These dedicated organisations are the backbone of our work, and we would not be able to do what we do without them. We are forever grateful for their patronage, belief and sustained support.
